What we do

Investing in the infrastructure projects that the world needs.

Kujenga deploys capital and development expertise across the full lifecycle of essential infrastructure — targeting high-quality assets with durable cash flows and strategic long-term significance.

Our Investment Approach

Kujenga applies a rigorous, sector-focused investment philosophy across all transactions. Our approach is built on three pillars:

Proprietary Origination
We do not rely on competitive auction processes. We build relationships with governments, development authorities, and industrial operators to identify infrastructure opportunities at the earliest possible stage — allowing us to shape transactions before the market sees them. This requires deep local knowledge, political understanding, and patient relationship development across multiple jurisdictions.

Development Expertise
We are developers as well as investors. We take projects from concept through feasibility, structuring, permitting, and financial close — applying genuine technical, commercial, and regulatory expertise at every stage. For complex greenfield and PPP transactions, this development capability is the difference between a project that happens and one that does not.

Operational Engagement
We invest for the long term. Once capital is deployed, we engage actively with assets — providing oversight, management support, and strategic direction to maximise operational performance and protect the long-term value of the infrastructure. We do not pass on assets to operators and walk away.

Disciplined origination. Active ownership. Long-term value.

Our Focus Sectors

We apply a disciplined, sector-focused investment approach across five core areas of economic infrastructure. Each sector represents a structural requirement for economic development — and a long-term investment opportunity.

Transportation & Aviation Logistics

Airports, cargo terminals, intermodal logistics hubs, port infrastructure, and freight corridor development. We develop and invest in transportation infrastructure with a focus on trade facilitation, export-oriented logistics, and the connectivity that unlocks economic value.
Our work spans airside infrastructure development, SEZ co-location, bonded warehousing, and operational frameworks built to international standards. We engage early — structuring the concession frameworks, government agreements, and capital structures that allow these assets to be developed and financed.

Energy Infrastructure

Pipeline systems, power generation, transmission infrastructure, and energy corridors that serve industrial and commercial demand. We invest across the energy value chain — from gas transportation and fuel logistics to power plants and grid-connected transmission assets — with a focus on assets that provide essential services to the economies they serve.
We work across conventional and transition energy infrastructure, structuring projects that are bankable, operationally resilient, and aligned with long-term demand growth.

Special Economic Zones & Industrial Infrastructure

We originate, structure, and develop SEZs and industrial zones that create the physical conditions for manufacturing, processing, and trade. Our SEZ work spans zone design and master-planning, incentive framework negotiation with governments and investment promotion agencies, utility and infrastructure development, and leasing and commercial operations.
We focus on zones with genuine competitive positioning — anchored by logistics access, resource proximity, or trade corridor advantage — and structured to attract quality anchor tenants and FDI.

Public-Private Partnerships

Kujenga is a specialist PPP originator and structurer. We operate at the intersection of government intent and private capital requirements — understanding what sovereign counterparties, development finance institutions, and international investors each need from a transaction, and building the frameworks that bring them together.
Our PPP capability spans project identification and feasibility, concession design and negotiation, financial structuring, DFI engagement, and transaction close. We are equally comfortable in the boardroom of a Ministry and in the investment committee of a global infrastructure fund.

Digital & Data Infrastructure

As digital infrastructure becomes a critical component of economic competitiveness — from data centres to fibre backbones and communications networks — we are developing our capability to originate and invest in this sector. We see digital infrastructure as a natural adjacency to our core sectors, with similar long-duration, essential-services characteristics.

Our Capital Structuring and Approach

Flexible capital. Purpose-built structures.

We structure each transaction to reflect the specific risk profile, counterparty requirements, and market context of the asset. We work across:

  • Equity investment in infrastructure SPVs and operating companies.
  • PPP concession structures including BOT, BOOT, and DBOO models.
  • Co-investment alongside development finance institutions and sovereign entities.
  • Project finance structures with DFI, multilateral, and commercial lending.
  • Private equity partnerships and co-investment vehicles.

We engage selectively, targeting transactions where our origination edge, structuring depth, and emerging market access create a genuine competitive advantage over global infrastructure funds that lack on-the-ground capability.

Sustainability & Responsibility Investment

Infrastructure built responsibly

We believe that responsible investment practice is not a constraint on returns — it is a requirement for durable, long-term value creation in infrastructure. The assets we develop and own serve essential functions in the economies and communities where they operate. That creates both obligation and opportunity.

Our Approach

4P Model of Sustainability

Our approach to sustainability is integrated throughout the investment lifecycle:

  • Environmental and social assessment from project origination through feasibility.
  • Governance frameworks designed for long-term accountability and transparency.
  • Community engagement and local economic participation built into project design.
  • Energy transition alignment: we actively consider decarbonisation pathways in energy and industrial infrastructure.
  • Alignment with international best practice — including IFC Performance Standards and relevant DFI environmental and social frameworks.

Partners

Collaborating as client-focused solution providers to deliver exceptional results to all stakeholders, all the time.

People

Engaging employees by providing education, resources and support.

Projects

Involvement in all phases of a project’s life before, during and after its construction.

Who We Work With

Built on partnership

Our emerging market access, local relationships, and structuring capability is what we bring to every transaction. We are the development and origination capability that large global capital providers need but cannot replicate on their own.
